Robert I. Girardi has conducted research for numerous historians, including Peter Cozzens, Nathaniel Cheairs Hughes, Jr., Theodore J. Karamanski, Noah Allen Trudeau, Robert Miller and has written articles and reviews for various Civil war publications. Robert is a past president of the Chicago Civil War Round Table,current vice president of the Salt Creek Civil War Round Table and is a member of three others in the Chicago area. He is a fellow of the Company of Military Historians and is an associate member of the Sons of Union Veterans. Robert has edited/authored six books, including The Soldier's View: The Civil War Art of Keith Rocco (Military History Press, Berkeley,
